The commissioning event of India’s first indigenously built Aircraft Carrier INS Vikrant by our honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi at a specially arranged venue inside Cochin Shipyard Ltd in Kerala. This marks a landmark day for India’s efforts to become Aatmanirbhar in the defence sector, Designed by the Indian Navy’s in-house Warship Design Bureau (WDB) and built by Cochin Shipyard Limited, INS Vikrant has been built with state-of-the-art automation features. Prime Minister also unveiled the new Naval Ensign for the Indian Navy.

A host of dignitaries including Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, Cabinet Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Kerala Governor Shri.Arif Mohammad Khan, Kerala Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar and top officials of Navy and Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) attended the event.
